Flower Garden

My brother in law knows that I love flowers and every chance I get while at his house I take pictures. So last week while the flowers in his garden were in bloom he sent me these pictures. The colors that decorate his yard are breath takingly beautiful. Below are just a few that are currently blooming  The above pictures are of a Balloon flower opening

Father's Day

We love our father... and wanted to celebrate Father's Day in the same fashion we did our mother  We just made minor changes to dads (rough instructions below)

I took a blank canvas, dry painted it blue, added measured cuts of painters tape, eyeballed them into a grid, painted six different colors over the canvas and tape, removed the tape while the paint was still wet, printed out pictures of all us siblings, with one word representing what dad means to us and why, then I mod podged it all upon the grid painted canvas.

Then on a separate and larger canvas I printed words representing what our father stands for and means to us then Mod podged them to the white canvas, covered it with mod podge as well and let them all dry. When it was all dry I took my glue gun and put glue on the underside of the small canvas on the wood part of the frame and then glued it to the center of the large canvas... When it was all done I double checked all the papers making sure that they all stuck an…

Introducing Taffy

Taffy is a small penguin that my son Michael created
He asked if I would write a story to go along with her...
I have now done so and now he is working on the sketches to go along with the story...
Here are some that I love
They are not ready for the press yet as he is still fine tuning her but I am so pleased with how she looks

So much fun...
I have finished one story and in the process of writing three more with Taffy and her adventures
I really love to write I cannot explain what it does for me but...
You could say it's a bit of an escape or mini vacation I take in my head lol...
Sounds weird right lol Oh well that is me... Abby Normal as my BFF calls me

One Thousand Gifts

Short but significant list today
~ The sweet ministrations of an elderly couple especially from the man to his wife           A senior gentle man waiting outside the hospital for the love of his life to come out... barley able to walk himself does a shuffle run to get to the car as his wife exits the building... before she can get to the car he backs up to her so that she did not have to walk far herself. He was a slow shuffler/walker/runner but she was even more slow...            Seeing that made my heart smile! It reminds me of my sweet husband rushing around trying to help me out when I am in need. I wonder if these two have shared a life time together as my husband and I have... Well I suppose they would have been together longer but still... The love in their eyes was fixed... There was no doubt about it and they operated in sync with each other... I hope that when my husband and I are 80 something still have that fire behind our eyes even if the body has started quitting. Stay…

Refrigerator Oatmeal Breakfast

I found this web site on Pinterest of making an easy no-cook breakfast. As I rise at 4am on work days I find it hard to eat at that time of the day so... I thought this is a perfect make and take meal
It's oatmeal (which I like) with fruit and it looks simple enough right? Haha you may well think but this is me we are talking about lol I make things much more hard on myself than is necessary.
First off I forgot to purchase the Marmalade and next my honey was semi crystallized and did not mix well once added. (I thought it would pppffftttt)
I made it anyway and am looking forwards to eating it tomorrow. I will post an update here later

Update 6-19-2015 Below is what the semi crystallized honey looks like on the bottom of the jar... It mixed up very well after two days but I will make sure from now on to use regular sugar. The taste was great! I could have used the Marmalade though to make it a bit sweeter but it was okay just the way it was. The Chia seed was the consistency of T…

Granny's Box of Papers

I think this top picture may be my Great Grandfathers sister.. She was 80 in 1956... My gran and her share the same facial bone structure. It's amazing to me that a birthday announcement with who attended is new paper worthy. I think as I did in the last post that this is the way they shared news kind of like we do today on Facebook... So fun
Here is Joe Sparks he was also a brother to my Great Grandfather... He was 82 when he passed. His obituary states that he was a well liked person and had lived in his community for 50 some years. Both were Baptists and served in their churches many years. My great uncle Ted was a southern baptist preacher and he was such a fun man! I do not have to many memories of him but what I do is fond to me

Kindergarten Graduation

I have to say that it sure has been such a pleasure to be included in our nieces life this past year from her birthdays to softball to her graduation. She is so adorable... She always runs up to us when we arrive and gives us a hug and then runs off. So cute and too mature for her age. I thought that she was eight and here she is just graduating from kindergarten... sigh... I am getting to old lol P.S. May's date night with my husband did not happen in may (Due to having way to many engagements) but happened last night... I do not have pictures but we were to go Mini Golfing but the course was broken... So we went to Galaxy Imax theater and watched "San Andrea" I didn't care for it to much but it was so fun being with the love of my life any chance I get!

My Fun Husband

Pictures from Facebook
My husband txt me these pictures over the last couple weeks. It's not something he has done to often in the past but I thought that they were funny and I love this last one!
"Live like someone left the gate open"  truly great words to live by and isn't that dog so adorable?

Happy Friday

This top picture taken by my sister "mini me"

Just some pics from my day today...
I love flowers and try to take pictures when I come across a pretty one...

I found this butterfly under my car and put him on a bush, I think it made him happy as he looked pretty hot,

Clouds and tornado warning category two? HUH???... Some places closed up and others lost roofs and sheds

Then off to Mel's Diner for a quick dinner before calling it a night...

Phew such a long day with the rain, hail, lightening, thunder and tornado warning... Saving a little butterfly and getting dinner on the way home although not paleo... I needed some comfort food tonight lol
