A brand new home

Up against the deep blue sky the bright white color of her new home was startling. She fell in love with it but that was not the only thing that she loved about her new home. With all the different colors surrounding it were just as bold, the greens and browns that greeted her every time she came and went made her know she was home.

Finding this new home had been a very fast and exhaustive search consuming all of her waking hours looking absolutely everywhere. She and her mate had spent the last two weeks looking for what they said would be "the perfect place" and this was it.

Their new home was in a area that was considered safe and all the other homes around there were nice too but this home... their home out did them all. The house was very high up and protected from the weather quite well on all sides just in case in the future they welcomed some little ones.

After picking this home she and her mate had began the process of moving in and in very short order just like they h…
"My Mom is a Survivor"

My Mom is a survivor,
or so I've heard it said.
But I can hear her crying at night
when all others are in bed.

I watch her lay awake at night
and go to hold her hand.
She doesn't know I'm with her
to help her understand.

But like the sands on the beach
that never wash away...
I watch over my surviving mom,
who thinks of me each day.

She wears a smile for others...
a smile of disguise!
But through Heaven's door I see
tears flowing from her eyes.

My mom tries to cope with death
to keep my memory alive.
But anyone who knows her knows
it is her way to survive.

As I watch over my surviving mom
through Heaven's open door...
I try to tell her that angels
protect me forevermore.

I know that doesn't help her...
or ease the burden she bears.
So if you get a chance, go visit her...
and show her that you care.

For no matter what she says...
no matter what she feels.
My surviving mom has a broken heart
that time won't ever heal.

Morning beauty

Taking a trip to see family across the Sierras this is what we were privileged to see, I think that out of all the pictures that this one is my most favorite!   This is one of those times where the pictures do not do justice........  You truly had to be there to see the wonder of the sky  My sincere apologies to all the bugs harmed in the taking of all these pictures

Our mascot in the top right corner "Pirate Mickey"  Traveling down the freeway I just wanted to stop right here and take it all in Pictures taken 2010
Aw......My sweet Ringo

Home made bubble gum candy jars

My future daughter in law came over to spend the day with me and we had the best day! She is such a sweet, kind and loving person and I am so happy that I will be able to call her daughter! I am so proud of my son for his great choice in a wife, he has great taste...... Well on to the craft! Above is the finished project.
Here are the items that I used, acrylic paint, sponge brush, terracotta pot and saucer and a round bowl  I painted the pot and it only took two coats  One wooden knob for the handle then I used my hot glue gun to attach it to the lid  I glued the glass bowl on top of the upside down pot with a hot glue gun, make sure not to glue the top because then you will not be able to add the candy. This is the done project now to the decorations  I took some letter beads and strung a tiny ribbon through the holes and then glued the ribbon on the back, but I also glued the first and last letter to hold the beads tight  I made this one for my sister and her family, they are al…

Takota's new resting spot

Here is my sweet little monster lol not really he is a super sweet dog! BUT! for the first time since we adopted him he jumped onto the back of our recliner and sat down and rested for a bit. I was so shocked that I did not know what to do so I ran and grabbed my camera and took a couple of pictures. He is so happy just sitting up on the back of the chair that I didn't tell him to get down and am afraid that this will be his new resting place for a while. I guess that is okay because this chair is not used too much. I thought that this was kind of funny, I have not had a dog before do this so for me it was odd behavior but he looks at home upon his throne his royal highness.

Valentines day 2012

This is what I made for my husband for Valentines day. Do you remember these? They are so much fun to make and you can use just about any candy bar that you can make up a saying with. (Sorry about my toes in the pic :-(    Here is what I wrote, Happy Valentines day (sweetheart)  I (looked)  Everywhere for a (big hunk)   like you and I (skored)  I know I'm being (nerdy)  but I am over (joyed)  and (nutrageously) happy  I could have searched the (milky way) for ever and not found someone like you  You are worth more than a (100 grand)  To me and I love you to (pieces)   I sure got a big (pay day) when I found you  I know you may be filled with (snickers)  But I love you with all my heart and soul, you're my (baby)  Then I folded the board like a science project and put it on the bed for him to find when he got home
This is from him to me  I was so surprised to find this from my husband and I love it  Who does not love strawberry's and chocolate, well I guess some one does BUT NOT ME!!!  Mmmm…
