A stowaway

My visitor

As I entered the parking lot I saw he was walking on the windshield of my car as I got closer I told him that I was leaving and he better climb off or it was going to get ugly, He did not listen.
I got into my car saying "you better listen to me and get off". He still did not listen so as I was leaving my parking space I said here is the corner and after this is a main road so you better get off here. He just stared at me with his bugged eyes and so I pulled onto the main street.
As I entered the main street I came to a light I said here is your chance I am going to stop at this light and you will have a chance to get off. The light was only a wait of forty five seconds. Then I was off again but he was still there.
At this point I was getting worried because he was still on my windshield and I was coming up to a freeway entrance and I would be going way to fast for a rider on my windshield.
So at this point I implored him to PLEASE! Please get off it would be safer than flyin…
Well I am trying to finish this poor quilt. I started to do a little of piecing together and found that at the end of this strip I was out of room and off balance. Grrrrrrrr Well that is what you get when you do not pay enough of attention to what your measurements are. I found out that the one panel was off and the strips that I put in between were a whole inch and a half wider than all the others, Then I measured the two different rulers that I was using and found that they are inaccurate. Ppppttttffff now I have to rip out the rows I just did and start all over on the one row. Good thing that I did not get to far before I realized it.

Here is the picture I took on Saturday. We were going over the mountain to see my father because he has been diagnosed with esophagus cancer. As we were at the top very close to Lake Tahoe A memory of the picture below came to my mind. Do you see what's missing? I had to take this picture. I cannot say why but the need to do so was overwhelming. Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.9

This picture is one of my favorites

Here's a day that I will always remember. It was the day we met family at Tahoe for lunch. Amanda was so happy and she enjoyed getting out for the day. I love this picture Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.9
Here is all the blocks ready to put together
Here i am adding panels between the squares.........I hope that it looks okay when I am done. Right now I am not sure but I will wait before I pull it out to see how it turns out
Here are all the squares done and ready for the next step. I think that it is not too bad of a job for my very first time doing this

Baby Quilt

This is the color and fabrics that I am going to use to make my baby quilt. I am making this quilt for a very special person who did my family a great service! I hope you enjoy watching it come to fruition
First I cut out the teddy bear pattern that I am using for the applique, I used card stock so it would be strong enough for the repeated us that it is going to get.
Here is one cut out and others ready for cutting. I traced on the back so that it would not show up on the pattern side and that way I will not have to deal with it later
More cut out. I love the way it is looking right now and am kind of excited to see how it turns out. I am not the best quilter but I really love to quilt!
voila, here are the bears cut out, and on the squares that will be used. Now I have to applique them. I will post more progress later.

This is one of my very favorite pictures of Mandy, She is so cute! Mandy always had this very happy smile on her face and she was always happily running around every where singing or playing. I miss her so much. She is and was my baby girl and her being gone makes my heart hurt. I love you baby girl
I found this really great book at a thrift store not to long ago and I got really excited about reading it after I found a remark in it about women. When I got home I wanted to read it to my family but I couldn't find the page it was on so I am going to read it from cover to cover to see what is in this gem!
The Title in case you cannot see it to well is "Dr. Chases Recipes or information for everybody" it is the enlarged and improved edition copyright 1902
The book is in really good shape inside but the spine has come apart from the book itself. I am worried about handling the book but books are meant to be read not to sit on the bookshelf untouched no matter how old they are. (I am still very careful)
Just reading the Publishers preface, you get the sense that they feel that this book is the most important and valuable thing on this earth! It claims that the information inside is so true and is in such a wide scope that you do not need to purchase technical books. Well …
What a morning this was! The sun rise was unbelievable but the Pict's don't do it justice!

What a glorious sun rise

What a great day we had in Pacifica at the Light House Inn. It sits right on the beach and you can see if from your window and even at the cafe you have a ocean view while you are eating. Oh, what a day
This picture was taken at one of the stores in San Fransisco that Mandy and I were at on one of our trips to the city with the family. She found this hat and put it on and I thought that it was cute but she did not want to buy it so I asked her to let me take a picture of her in it. I love this picture!
Mandy would love to spend the day with me going shopping and we would have a blast! She would bring what she called girl power music and we would blast it loud and have fun dancing in the car and singing along with it as we drove. She would look over at me and say "I love shopping with you mom". Even now I can look to my right and see her looking at me with her great smile and telling me this. My heart is happy with this memory but also in pain knowing that I can no longer here enjoy any more trips to the store with her and that is hard pain.
Every day I wake and each night I sleep I think about my sweet baby girl. The void in my life is extremely painful and very hard to endur…

Vinita D. Acree

My sweet Grandmama, I miss her so much! She was a great big influence in my life. She taught me a lot about the way things are suppose to be done in life with things, people and love.
I remember the many times she would say this is a lot easier than the way we used to do something or the other when she was young and she was right. You know when you hear someone say they had a hard life but it just made them stronger? Well that was my grandmother. She did what she needed to do to get along in life.
I remember asking her the question of did you ever ride in a horse and buggy?, and she looked at me and smiled. Her comment was that she did ride in a horse and buggy but she did not remember it to much. But the part that she did remember was doing the laundry at the river on rocks. She told us that we had it easy using the washers because she was not able to use them when she was growing up. I remember rolling my eyes when she turned around because I was thinking that it would have been mor…
